For most businesses, email is still the workhorse of communication. It’s how invoices go out, leads come in and relationships are built. So when email fails, whether through spam overload, blacklisting or poor deliverability, it doesn’t just slow things down. It breaks trust.

That’s why we’ve built our hosting platform to protect both sides of your email communication. At Krystal, we use SpamExperts for incoming mail filtering and MailChannels for outbound delivery. Together, they protect your inboxes, help your messages get through and keep your domain reputation intact.

SpamExperts: smarter filtering for incoming mail

Let’s start with what comes in. SpamExperts is our dedicated system for filtering incoming email. It protects Krystal-hosted domains from spam, phishing attempts and malware before they can reach your inbox.

Every incoming message is analysed using several techniques, including greylisting, real-time blacklists, content scanning and authentication checks like SPF and DKIM. These checks are powered by constantly updated global threat data, helping to identify both known and emerging risks.

If you're using Krystal nameservers, SpamExperts works out of the box. You can also access the system via cPanel to:

  • Review quarantined messages
  • Adjust spam sensitivity settings
  • Whitelist or blacklist senders
  • Track delivery logs in real time

The result is a dramatically cleaner inbox, less wasted time and better security. All from a system that requires minimal maintenance.

MailChannels: better delivery for outgoing mail

While SpamExperts protects what comes in, MailChannels makes sure what goes out arrives where it should.

Email deliverability depends on more than just a stable server. When your emails are sent, their content and origin are scanned by the recipient's system. If your IP address has a bad reputation, or if spam is detected, your message may be rejected or dropped into a junk folder.

MailChannels solves this by routing your outbound email through a global network of trusted IP addresses. It checks messages for spam and malware before they’re delivered, helping to prevent abuse and keep your domain in good standing.

If an account is compromised or a script is misused, MailChannels flags and isolates the problem early. That protects both your domain and other users on the platform.

For most Krystal clients, everything is handled automatically. If your domain is using our nameservers, you don’t need to do anything. If you manage your DNS elsewhere, we’ll help you update your SPF record so your emails continue to flow smoothly.

MailChannels also brings:

  • Real-time monitoring of outbound traffic and sender behaviour
  • Compromised account detection and auto-mitigation
  • IP reputation protection, helping your messages avoid spam folders
  • Global infrastructure for reliable, low-latency delivery
  • 24/7 support, should anything go wrong

All of this contributes to one clear result: your emails land where they’re meant to, consistently and securely.

Why we use both

SpamExperts and MailChannels handle opposite ends of your email flow, but they work toward the same goal. Reliable, secure, and frustration-free communication.

When used together, they offer a complete system that:

  • Filters out malicious and unwanted incoming mail
  • Protects you from phishing, spoofing and malware
  • Keeps your sent emails off spam lists and blacklists
  • Ensures better inbox placement across providers like Gmail, Outlook and others
  • Protects your IP reputation across your whole domain
  • Detects suspicious activity from compromised scripts or accounts
  • Reduces the time you or your team need to spend managing email issues

These systems are built into every Krystal hosting plan at no extra cost. You don’t need to install anything or micromanage settings unless you want to.

What do you need to do?

In most cases, nothing at all.

If you’re using Krystal nameservers, SpamExperts and MailChannels are already working behind the scenes. You can log into cPanel to review quarantines, adjust spam filtering or track delivery activity.

As mentioned above, if your DNS is hosted elsewhere, we’ll help you update your SPF record to make sure MailChannels works as intended.

Our support team is always here if you need a hand.

Secure, reliable email that just works

Whether you’re a freelancer with a single inbox or a growing business managing a team, email is too important to leave unprotected. That’s why we’ve invested in tools that handle both incoming and outgoing mail, with as little friction as possible.

With SpamExperts and MailChannels working together, your email stays clean, secure and reliable. Just as it should be.
